I had MRIs of my spine & pelvis earlier this week & discussed the report with my radiation oncologist, Dr. Ghia, yesterday. STABLE! For the first time since we began monitoring my spine no new spots were found! Everything that has been radiated appears to have responded to the radiation. There are 3 lesions (at T1, T2 & L3) that were identified on earlier MRIs that have not grown which Dr. Ghia believes is indicative of the Ibrance doing its job. If future scans identify that they have grown we will look at radiating them at that point.
Next month I’ll have a PET scan and we’ll review potential lesions (in my left arm & leg) that were identified on a previous PET scan and make sure the cancer has not spread anywhere else. If everything looks stable, I’ll stay the course and remain on the Ibrance/Falsodex combo for another 3 months.
Mom & I are headed to the Kentucky Derby next week! We’re so excited to get to see several lovely horse farms, watch some races and break out our hats!
