I am thrilled to share that my most recent scans have once again revealed no evidence of progression! I’ll be celebrating 11 months of stability at MD Anderson’s Boot Walk to #EndCancer this coming Saturday, Nov. 11.
Additionally, I’m excited to share that our Stomp Out Stage IV Breast Cancer team has raised over $50,000 for MD Anderson’s Advanced Breast Cancer Program. Though it is still in its infancy, we believe strongly in the ABC Program and its mission. The money our team raises for the Program enables MD Anderson to:
- rapidly translate research discoveries into clinical care advances;
- fund research specifically targeted at metastatic breast cancer to improve survival rates; and
- improve cancer care delivery, safety, availability and affordability.
For a year after my metastatic diagnosis every scan revealed new cancerous lesions until finally I was put on medications newly approved by the FDA for use in the metastatic breast cancer population. These drugs have kept my cancer stable for the past 11 months. Medications like these exist because of programs like this that specifically dedicate research and funds to extending and improving the lives of metastatic breast cancer patients.
I would love to see you at the Boot Walk this Saturday, November 11th. You can join our team and walk with us or you can lend your financial support Click here to learn more.
